Wildlife Illustration: Turtle

This is vector illustration of Leatherback Sea Turtle.
Leatherback Sea Turtle is called Penyu Belimbing in Malay, maybe because it's carapace (upper shell) looks like a "belimbing" (a kind of sour fruit). This reptile said to be one of the oldest in it's group. Scientific name is Dermochelys coriacea.

Caricature, a portrait of a person with exaggeration or distortion but can still be identifies easily.
Almost all professional cartoonist can make caricature with their own unique style. Some artist make a living by selling caricature.
And I, a learner, experimenter feel like learning caricature this week. Last week I did learn ambigram and created a few. Self taught ? I don't think so, I've learn from other blogger that have same interest, online tutorial, comments and by observing other people artwork.
Bottom of this post is one link to digital caricature tutorial. This tutorial will guide you to draw a basic and simple digital caricature step by step from sketching the outline, coloring and shadow location. The same drawing and coloring techniques can be apply to the physical caricature drawing (drawn on paper) too.
Okay, guess who? Your coment is very much appreciated.

IF : Open arms at open door

Its about a week to celebrate Hari Raya ( malay word for eid ul fitri ). It is a day of forgiveness, moral victory, peace of congregation, fellowship, brotherhood and unity. In Malaysia it is a tradition to have open house. An open house (or "rumah terbuka") is a Malaysian concept whereby people celebrating various holidays will invite friends to drop by for festive snacks and fellowship.
Happy Hari Raya to all.

Illustration style
Here are some illustration style that i've refer to wikipedia recently.
A cartoon is any of several forms of illustrations with varied meanings that evolved from its original meaning.
Figurative art describes artwork - particularly paintings - which are clearly derived from real object sources, and are therefore by definition representational. The term "figurative art" is often taken to mean art which represents the human figure, or even an animal figure, and, though this is often the case, it is not necessarily so:
“ Since the arrival of abstract art the term figurative has been used to refer to any form of modern art that retains strong references to the real world[1]
Abstract art is now generally understood to mean art that does not depict objects in the natural world, but instead uses color and form in a non-representational way.
Child art is the drawings, paintings and other artistic works created by people under the age of 12. It is also referred to as "children's art" or the "art of children".
The term 'child art' also has a parallel and different usage in the world of contemporary fine art, where is refers to a sub-genre of artists who depict children in their works.
There is a third use of the phrase "child art" in the literature; art intended for viewing by children, say illustrations in a book for juvenile readers, has been referred to as child art; such art could be done by a child or a professional adult illustrator.
